Have Fun Cooking with Eggs

Cooking is great fun and a great way to impress your friends and family.  Try one of Q’s ‘smashing’ recipes.  Remember to get permission first!

Eggs are a key item in any chef’s shopping basket as they are the base for so many delicious dishes.  They can be enjoyed any time of day and are great when cooked simply for breakfast, whipped into a quick lunchtime snack and or made delicious for dinner.

Ten tips for safe, easy and tidy cooking:

  1. Always look for the Lion Quality mark on egg shells and egg boxes - this is a sign you are using the safest and best quality eggs
  2. If you are a new cook, get an adult to help
  3. Always read the recipe through carefully first and make sure you’ve got all the ingredients!
  4. Take great care with hot pans and boiling liquids
  5. Turn pan handles away from you on the stove
  6. Cook cleanly - wipe up spills immediately
  7. No pets allowed on kitchen worktops
  8. Use a teaspoon when tasting food, not fingers
  9. Don’t touch electric plugs or sockets with wet hands
  10. Wash hands before cooking and tie back loose hair
